Spiral Welded Steel Pipe

Spiral welded pipes have strong pressure resistance and bending resistance, making them suitable for long-span pipelines or high-pressure oil and gas pipelines. In contrast, straight seam steel pipes are more suitable for low-pressure gas and oil transmission pipelines. Furthermore, due to the manufacturing process of spirally welded pipes, there are relatively fewer welded joints inside, which results in better corrosion resistance.

The strength of spiral welded steel pipe is generally higher than that of straight seam welded pipe. It can produce larger diameter welded pipe with narrower billets, and also produce welded pipe with different diameters using the same width of billets. However, compared with straight seam pipe of the same length, the weld length increases by 30~100%, and the production speed is lower.
Therefore, straight seam welding is mostly used for smaller diameter welded pipe, while spiral welding is mostly used for larger diameter welded pipe.

How to get a lower price?

If you want to get a lower steel quotation, here are some of my suggestions：
Understand the market conditions of steel raw materials, especially the market dynamics of the exporter. When you are professional, you will usually receive a reasonable quotation.
Do not only negotiate for the lowest market price, which is difficult in the initial stage of cooperation. Moreover, if you only pursue the lowest market price, you are likely to be exploited by some unscrupulous traders who sell you inferior products.
Visit the factory for field investigation, communicate more with the seller, and understand each other. After establishing trust, the seller will usually offer more favorable prices to their familiar and trusted buyers.
Only after multiple cooperations with the exporter, you may obtain a more favorable quotation. At the same time, your purchase quantity and payment method will also affect the final quotation.
